Is 'cotton' a dirty word?

Ethical Organic Cotton

Of course not. But conventional cotton is certainly a ‘dirty crop’. In fact, conventional cotton is one of the dirtiest crops as it occupies just 2.4% of the world’s arable land, but accounts for 25% of global insecticide sales. (Source: organicconsumer.org). GMO cotton is one of the most genetically engineered, pesticide and chemically-contaminated crops in the world.

Those chemicals, some of which are known carcinogens, linger on the final garments, wash into our marine systems and contaminates other parts of our lives.

The cleaner option? 100% organic cotton, like what we use here at Vegan Scout. Because it is not only better for the environment by using less water and less energy in production, but it's also natural, biodegradable, lasts longer and feels better.

We definitely prefer our cotton just as we do our vegetables – clean and organic. How about you?
